See Full StoryTMP Worldwide, parent company of dominant online job search site Monster.com, said Tuesday
it will cut jobs and lower financial goals in the wake of the September 11th terrorist
attacks on the United States.
"Unfortunately, like so many others around the country, we saw business activity cease in
the days immediately following the attacks," TMP chief executive officer Andrew McKelvey
said. "It is now clear to us that September 11 has left a large impact on the health of
the economy."
What is with all of the web firms blaming their problems on the Sept 11 attack? Hey, Monster - I hate to be the heartless S.O.B. but there were 5000+ workers in the building... and many of those jobs will now need to be posted. Don't you post job ads at Monster.com? I may sound heartless, but I don't think my opinion is nearly as bad as the actions that many companies across America are taking. Let's say every company in the United States laid off 10% of their workforce... how does that improve the economy? The spiral leads downward and corporations need to think hard about downsizing before the entire economy goes down the tube.

Hmmm....Does this mean that the "Great Jeff Taylor" will no longer be water skiing behind blimps?
Will the masses still be giving him an Amen? Will the FTC approve of his drive towards a monopoly?
From this point of view it looks like the castle is starting to crumble...
