Stock Watch: Cisco Contract Boosts Kana

Kana Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: KANA) rose 2 3/16 to 35 1/8 Monday after the e-business software maker said it was awarded a contract by Cisco Systems, Inc.

The Redwood City, California-based Kana said it will provide Internet-based enterprise relationship management (eRM) software for Cisco, which already uses Kana software in other areas.

“Kana has proven to us its value as a technology partner,” said Cisco spokesperson Pete Solvik. The new contract, he said, will help Cisco with its customer and partner relations.
