Stock Watch: SilverStream Falls on Acquisition Plans

SilverStream Software, Inc. was down 2 13/16 to 71 1/16 early Monday. After the close Friday, the Burlington, Massachusetts-based software company said it acquired Power 2000, Inc., an e-business services company, for an undisclosed price.

SilverStream said the acquisition will better enable it to meet “increasing demand for comprehensive e-business solutions.” The company said it expects robust demand for a pair of new products that it has on tap, and Power 2000 will support its customer-service and training operations.

Power2000 provides e-business services and Internet training to such companies as US Cellular, Alliance Airlines and Homelife Furniture.
