The Knot Inc. (Nasdaq: KNOT) rose 1/8 to 3 5/8 Friday after the company, which runs a wedding-related Web site and provides wedding information on America Online sites, reported a jump in second quarter revenue.
Revenue for the quarter advanced to $6.9 million, including $2.9 million from Weddingpages, acquired in March, from $500,000 in the year earlier quarter. The net loss totaled $3.8 million, or 26 cents per share, compared with $1.7 million, or 56 cents.
The Knot said it enrolled almost 210,000 new members during the quarter, up from 73,000 in the same quarter last year. Membership at quarter’s end totaled more than 959,000. Average monthly page views during the quarter were more than 22 million, up from just 6 million a year earlier.
E-commerce was also strong during the quarter, with sales of wedding supplies and products up 40 percent.
